Sridhara Das

Sridhar Das (Samuele) was born in Italy, where he grew up within an Italian family converted to hinduism. Devotional songs and Indian classical music have always been an important part in their house.

At the age of 19 he traveled for the first time to India, in the holy town of Vrindavan to experience life in an ashram. There he met his spiritual teacher and started a daily spiritual practice aimed at developing consciousness of his real self. Along with the spiritual sadhana he begun to study devotional music, kirtans and bhajans, learned to play harmonium, to sing raga and different Indian percussions. Finding this to be a powerful way to connect with the divine, Samuele decided to deepen this practice and therefore spent most of the time studying with different teachers in the town of Vrindavan.

Sridhara Das kept on traveling to Vrindavan to study music regularly for what’s now over 10 years. Along with kirtans and bhajans, in 2015he started to study Indian classical music in the dhrupad form, which is known to be the oldest and purest form of Indian music. Dhrupad gives a profound sense of meditation and contemplation, giving an easy access to the understanding of the Naad Yoga.

Currently Sridhara Das lives in Vrindavan, and comes occasionally to Europe to perform and give workshops in different countries.
