40-Hour Online Yoga Nidra Teacher Training | Continuing Education | Floripa Yoga Academy

Why this Training

"For absolute relaxation you must remain aware." Swami Satyananda Saraswati

There is a kind of rest that sleep doesn't quite give.

Yoga Nidra works on that layer where the body settles completely, and you are aware of it all.

Most of us meet Yoga Nidra practice lying on a mat at the end of a class, and it remains a pleasant mystery.

This training opens it up: where it comes from, what actually happens in the body and mind, and how a session is built, step by step. You will learn to recognize the stages the mind passes through as it moves from waking awareness towards nidra - because rest that you understand is rest you can repeat.

It runs through autumn and winter - November to February. These are the months when the light is short and the body asks for rest. You will spend them learning how to give it properly, to yourself first.

By February you will have written four scripts, recorded three practices of your own, guided someone else, and stopped wondering what the person at the front of the room is actually doing when leading a Yoga Nidra session.

Who is this for

This training is for you if you are:

  • Someone who loves yoga nidra and wants to understand what happens there - no yoga education needed, only interest
  • A practitioner who finds it hard to rest: light sleep, a busy mind, a body that doesn't switch off
  • A therapist, psychologist, physiotherapist or osteopath working with the nervous system, looking for a reliable tool for deep rest
  • A yoga teacher who wants to add Yoga Nidra to your teaching with proper understanding
  • A teacher of another movement form looking for a restorative counterpart to what you already offer

Awareness is not a technique reserved for teachers - anyone who looks closer at this practice gets something back from it.

You do not need a yoga education to join.

You need curiosity.

What you need.

A quiet space where you can lie down undisturbed, a bolster or folded blanket, an eye cover, and a way to record audio for your own homework practices (simple phone dictaphone is enough).

What will you learn?

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

"The yogic texts state unequivocally that peace can only be found within, never without." Swami Satyananda Saraswati

Yoga Nidra teaches this directly. Nothing is added and nothing is achieved. The practice simply removes what is in the way, and asks you to stay awake.

If that is the kind of rest you are looking for, we would be glad to have you with us.

By the end of the training you will be able to:

  • Guide a complete Yoga Nidra session for a group and for individuals
  • Write your own scripts in short, medium and long form, for different intentions
  • Understand and explain what the practice does to the nervous system and to brain waves
  • Distinguish Yoga Nidra from hypnosis, meditation and simple relaxation, and say why the difference matters
  • Work with sankalpa and visualization
  • Use your voice, pacing and silence as instruments of the practice
  • Prepare a room, a body and a group for stillness

Real Transformations

Don't just take our word for it.

“I liked the welcoming and relaxing atmosphere, and the strong community feeling, which was created so fast. I haven’t experienced that before. The three weeks were so intense, but I liked to live in the bubble with amazing teachers, whom I learned so much from, and all my fellow yogis. It was the best decision and money spent. I think about it almost every day, and I wish I could do more yoga, not only asanas, but also pranayama, and study the philosophy of yoga. To refresh everything, you taught me. It was such an amazing experience, so eye- opening.”
