Our Story

Floripa opened in 2007 when founder Ettore returned to Sicily after globe-trotting, driven by a passion for kitesurf. What began as a tiny surf house with shared bunkbeds has blossomed into a thriving yoga & kitesurf retreat, hosting over 1,000 guests each season. We’ve added yoga classes at dawn and dusk, expanded our beachfront villas, and welcomed teachers and guests from every continent.

Floripa : A Home away from Home

With a beautiful view on our balinese-like garder, on-site restaurant, yoga shala, delicious homemade vegitarean food and most importantly, waves across the road; this place is easy to love.
We've wanted to create a space that feels like home, away from home, where it's natural to have fun and meet new friends, the essence of Floripa is good times.

Our heart belongs to the wind and waves

Long before yoga mats unrolled on our terraces, Floripa pulsed to the rhythm of the sea. Each morning, surfers carve the gentle Sicilian swells, and by afternoon our kitesurfers rise into the wind at Zuma Beach, harnessing every gust for an unforgettable ride. Stand-up paddleboarders drift along our sunlit coastline, soaking in panoramic views as the world wakes—and it’s here, in these moments on water, that our story began.

Mayo

Boss of the School and kite instructor, no need to worry about anything when you are with him!

Volounteers

Every summer we host young volunteers who would like to spend their holidays at our place, They help us run everything smoothly and in the meanwhile enjoy beach life. You will meet them all around, they are the young energy of the house!

Giada

Giada (or Giadina) is our Brand Manager, arrived at Floripa as a volunteer in 2016, and never left since then! Now In charge of Floripa Yoga Academy and marketing.

Paolo

Paolo is a friendly and active young man who joined the Floripa team in 2024 as the person in charge of maintenance. When he’s not working, you’ll likely find Paolo playing volleyball at Zuma or enjoying an aperitivo while watching the sunset. His energy and enthusiasm make him a great part of the Floripa team.

Zia Lorenza

Lorenza is Simona’s auntie, she has been with us since 2015, and she is the housekeeper. All of us call her “zia” (the Italian of auntie), you can also do it! If you need one more towel or anything related to the cleanness of your room, she is the right person to ask : always available and helpful.

Chef Francesco

He worked all his careers in important Kitchens everywhere, until two years ago decided to create his life with sea view, and possibly a van where to travel with, when looking for perfect wind and waves. He cooks by heart, you will taste his incredible passion in very fresh meal you will enjoy!

Giovanna

Giovanna is part of the Floripa Staff since 2018 and since we found her.. we cannot do without her! She’s the mum of Ettore’s bestfriend, you will not see her a lot around since she prefers staying in the kitchen to create for you delicious and rich buffet for breakfast. She will win you over with her Focaccia!

Giusy

Giusy is full time working home since she had Giulio, his first baby boy! Super organized and helpful, she will be replying to your emails and assisting you in all the "before arriving" process.

Chiara

Chiara, originally from Ispica, is the main receptionist! Super organised and helpful, you can always ask her for all your needs 😉 In her free time she loves taking car of foster animals and go to concerts.

Massage Therapist

Lomi lomi, draining and relaxing massages, Cristina really knows how to regenerate you.

Ruth

Coach

Ruth is our in-house coach. Professional Certified Coach (PCC), she is an expert in transitions and will support you in making choices and taking actions that truly serve you.
