How do I book a yoga holidays?

To book your room use the bar at the bottom of our page www.floripa.it
Select your dates and on the next window you will be able to chose the room you prefer. If you are booking during our high season (June-September), on the third page the system will already include a yoga package for one person (2 daily yoga classes). If you would like to add one more package you just need to select the box “Yoga package for second guest” . On this page, you can add more extras services, for example, the Biking & Sup package, which includes dinners, e-bikes and SUP boards, or you can also book a Kitesurfing class. If you have seen a specific package on our webpage, once you book the room send us a message to request the package you wish to add to your reservation.
The system does not withdraw any money upon reserving! It will only store your credit card information securely. You can pay the full amount once you come over upon check-in.

What’s a shared room like?

Our shared room can host up to 5 persons, with one ensuite bathroom. Generally most of the guests that book it are female travellers, but occasionally some guy has booked it too. While at times it can be very quiet, sometimes all the beds are booked. There is an extra bathroom on the groundfloor that the guests can use, and hot outside showers. It’s a great alternative if you are travelling on a tight budget and would love to be in the good company of other people that share the same passion for yoga and surf lifestyle! If you know you have a snoring problem, or are a light sleeper, then we would recommend a single room.

Yes you can pay for the package with your cards (except American Express), however all cards payments are subjected to a 4% fee. All water sports, massages and transfers need to be paid by cash. Also we recommend to bring some cash for expenses outside of the B&B, as in Sicily most places only accept cash.

The average age of our guests depends on the time of the year, but in general it ranges around 30-45 years old, though we often have younger and older people coming over. We are impressed by how easy it is for our guests to find common grounds for conversations and spending the time together, everybody is very easygoing.

At Floripa it is possible to have all the meals, if they are not included in your package, then you can “pay as you go” (price ranges from 6 to 18 euros). There are also some restaurants around 1 km away, which can be reached by bike (we provide free bicycles). Finally, there are two common kitchens that can be used to cook your own meals. The closest supermarket is located 3 km away (5 minutes by bike), and bigger supermarkets are located in Pozzallo (7 km away).

Our meals are mostly vegetarian, however at breakfast you will find ham and eggs. We don’t serve fish, and we serve meat usually once a week on Saturday during a barbecue. However, there are always vegetarian options also on barbecue nights.

I eat gluten free/vegan/proteins/ sugar free… will there be anything for me to eat?

Our breakfasts and dinners are buffet style, so you will find dishes that you can eat most of the time. When you sign up for meals just write a remark with your eating style and the cook will make sure to have something for you. It is not possible to order a la carte.

Are the water-sports compulsory?

Not at all! Some of our guests just enjoy the yoga classes and relaxing at the beach, or vising some of the stunning UNESCO sights nearby.

No you can leave your mats at home! In our shalas we provide all you need to attend the yoga class! Blocks, yoga mats, pillows and so on.

I’m a beginner at yoga/ I am advanced/ I am pregnant, will I be able to enjoy the classes?

In the morning we generally teach a dynamic style of flow yoga- it can be Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Prana flow; all levels are welcomed since the teachers give variations according to everybody’s capacities. At the afternoon session we usually teach yin-yoga or a gentle flow, these classes are slower and deep, and are usually followed by a meditation session. Sometimes we do the afternoon classes at the beach or in the little forest close to the B&B. If you are pregnant, or you have a special condition, you will be able for sure to follow the afternoon classes, while you might need to slow down and pause during the morning classes.

Is it possible to visit other places of Sicily from your place?

Floripa is located in Santa Maria del Focallo, a tiny beach village close to Pozzallo, which is a bigger centre easily reachable by bike. Pozzallo is a small village where you can try a real sicilian Cannollo while you go for a walk enjoy the seaview. In addition, from us you can also rent a motorbike or a car and have a nice trip of the city here around, like Ragusa, Noto, Marzamemi, Scicli and Modica.

What about kitesurf? Is it a sport for everyone?

Kitesurf is a water sport that uses the strength of wind. Our spot is quite easy, a long and free beach with flat water; in addition, the wind is normally side on shore, so perfect to learn! Everybody can try it, as you don’t need previous specific preparation. If you just want to give it a try, we recommend to do two hours and see how it goes (price is 60,00 euros per hour). If you are committed to learn it, you can attend a beginner course (from 6 to 9 hours) at our school, or just rent the equipment if you are already able to ride the wind!
